Thinking buying a 7135 on ebay...is it mistake?

I know its old phone, but I hear its a good phone and pda. I just want to use it for email and phone. What are the pitfalls for buying this phone. I am a Verizon Carrier.

welcome to the forum
yes it is a great phone and pda, a bit big and heavy but you can't find any quality phone out there with this kind of robust housing (maybe blackberry does), but I find this phone has the best pda phone form factor and most convenient button layouts.

the downside is, you will find a lot of people call your cell phone a brick and laugh at you when you use it to make call. The Processor and OS is slow and outdated, but good enough just for PDA phone and a little bit of email, forget about surfing the web.

most likely you will have difficulty activating the phone with your carrier with the 911 capablitiy issue. In canada, this phone is still activatiable.

This might be a little late, but Verizon will no longer activate any 7135s on their network.

The Treos are nice, but in case you haven't looked lately, except for the Pro, Palm has discontinued that line. It should also be noted that the Pro uses a Windows OS which is, of course, different from the Palm OS and does not transfer completely.

Also, Verizon no longer has any Palm phones in their line up, including the Treo Pro. In speaking with a Verzion customer support person it was said that Verizon was evaluating a Palm phone for inclusion in the line up, but they did not know when or if such a phone would be qualified or which one of the three current Palm phones it might be.

Yes you will not be able to activate it on Vzw.. the euthanized this phone out of their line-up.. said it was a great phone.. And to those you call it a brick! ha I had my flip tones set to "Kirk here" "Kirk out".. you'll never find another phone that doubles as a star trek communicator.
