Unhappy Fatal exceptions on phone calls and web access

Thanks to all who gave input to my other issues.

I'm stil having a problem tho w/ Fatal Exceptions occuring even after my ROM burn to the latest 7135 software.

Here's what I know. After a hard reset, I sync with a blank test address/calendar database from my ECCO program (yes, I'm a retrogrouch) and test the phone and web functions. All works well - phone and web. Then, I install AvantGo and sync it a few times. All seems to continue to work well. Then, I start up and use the alternate browser. After that, I retest the the phone and I get fatal exceptions requiring a soft reset. It also happens when I try to use the any browser native or installed.

I'm nowhere close to maxing out my RAM memory on the phone, yet I get these freezes regularly immediately after making a call or using a browser to access the web. Its quite inconvenient when driving as you can immagine.

Its a vexing problem that seems to repeat only after reinstalling AvantGo and/or Xiino.

Has anyone else has had similar problems?

Does anyone have any info on potential conflicts between the palm based controlling software for the phone/web connect cell transmitter and non native browsers like AvantGo?

I'd really like to be able to keep using AvantGo but it appears less and less likely to be possible on this piece of hardware.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Talking Help Thy Self ......

To close the loop on this wierd problem, I wanted to let anyone who might have the same issue know what seems to have finally fixed it.

After much testing I determined my fatal exceptions would occur with only my contacts and calendar loaded into a cleanly reset 7135 from Ecco PIM software (an obsolete yet beautiful orginizing tool). When, however, I loaded in a very small test set of data, there were no errors.

It turns out my calendar data had within it, apointments dating back to 1997. I had not cleared these out because, well, there never seemed to be any need to do so.

So, I cleared out every appointment before 2003 - including some custom recurring items (which would always result in an error entry in the sync log) and removed all unecessary and obsolete addresses. A long and overdue housecleaning.

Then, I resynched and, everything appears to be stable. I've loaded in various 3rd party software (AvantGo in particular) and so far, no errors.

What seemed to be happening? Who knows. Maybe it was simply overload, maybe it was a Y2K issue - bottom line, the thing works now.

Hope this helps someone down the road.
