Question AvantGo - any wireless sync advice?

Hi, I'm a new user here so thanks in advance for your patience. I've had AvantGo on my 7135 w/ no problems synching through the cradle.

I've also got no problems accessing the web through the browsers on the 7135.

I'd like to figure out how to synch AvantGo through the phone's browser but can't seem to find any guidance on how to set that up. I'm pretty sure I'd have to set up a new "server" for AvantGo but am clueless about what to specifiy therein to access the site through the phone's browser.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be really appreciated.

Anantgo

I do not remember doing anything special. Hav you tried going to "channels" and selecting "Modem sync"? If that doesn't work, let me know and I will look at my settings.

Thumbs up Thanks, that helped

Thanks for the help, I tried it and it worked. I found the "connect" option under the menu and didn't figure out, once connected, that I needed to do a "modem" sync. Doohhhhhh.

Joe

PS . went to Verizon today and had them flash my ROM to the newest version of the phone/pda software. Hopefully that will help with incompatibilities I've had w/AvantGo and other browsers which would unceasingly cause the dreaded "fatal exception" - reset syndrome. So far, so good.

I believe on my Palm I have a program called AG Connect that is available via Avant Go. This is what you use to synch wirelessly. Make sure your Network preferences are set up correctly and press "Synch this Server" on AG Connect. It does it exactly as your PC would. I have had no issues doing it this way.

Correct

Yes, thats the way I did it, through AG Connect and it worked well until, the dreaded Fatal Exceptions curse. I'm going to start a new thread on that one to see if anyone else has the problem.

Thanks for your interest and help.

When I loaded Avantgo on my phone, I got two icons. One is for the AGconnect and the other has the articles and the icon is called Avantgo. I can update the page via AGconnect, but I prefer to update it using the other icon using the modem sync listed in the "channel" drop down menu. This puts me back on the page with the articles after the download is finished.
You may have an incompatible program on your phone. I use Avantgo almost as much as I use any of my other programs and I never have reset problems when I run this program. I do have the "paid" version of the program, so my results may be different if you are using the free version.
