I've been using a Handspring Treo for the past year. I had a heck of a time migrating to this from my 6035 before that. But thankfully, this time around I had a smooth transition and thought I'd share the steps I took in case anyone else is making a similar transition. I suppose the following steps would be the same if you were migrating from any smartphone or Palm device: <ol><li>Locate the Backup folder that resides in the Palm folder and rename it (I renamed mine Backup.Treo). </li>
<li>Then install the Palm desktop software from the 7135 CD-Rom over the EXISTING Palm folder where all your info currently resides. </li>
<li>Perform a Hotsync. </li>
<li>If you have 3rd party apps that were installed on your Treo, go back to your old Backup folder (i.e. "Backup.Treo) and compare what programs reside in it versus what is in the new Backup folder. You can skip step #5 if you don't have any 3rd party apps. </li>
<li>Double-click on any Palm programs in your old Backup folder that you want reinstalled in the 7135. Make sure to include all component parts of the program (i.e. for Datebook5 has 5 parts of the program that I had to install). </li></ol>IMPORTANT: Make sure you don't copy any of the Treo's wireless applications or resident applications (such as the Carrier preferences). These only pertain to the Treo and will mess your 7135 up. Also, whatever you do, DO NOT copy over the "saved preferences" file from your old device's backup folder over to the 7135. Each saved preferences file is specific to the device and transferring one over to your new device will inevitably cause you to have to perform a hard reset.
That's it. When I followed this process, I was able to make a 100% transition from my Treo to the 7135. Good luck!!
