What is 1xRTT?

1xRTT is 1x Radio Transmission Technology. It the first step for CDMAOne carriers/networks in the 3G migration. This migration increases call capacity and data rates. In the 1xRTT implementation, users will be capable of peak data rates of 153kbps. 1xRTT is part of the IS-2000 CDMA standard. Other technologies (GSM/TDMA) are using similar, but different migrations.
