One of the key differences between the 6035 and the 7135 (besides the fact it's a flip now ) is the very bright, very colorful, new screen.
Here are a few tip's and recommendations:

First and foremost, DO NOT JUDGE YOUR BATTERY LIFE FROM THE INITIAL MONTH OF USE!! You are going to play with this phone until the wheels fall off (ok, well, buttons fall off). It is not until you get into normal activity on it that you can properly gauge the battery life. You will also need to grow accustom to the various settings that control the consumption.

The new screen will use more battery than the 6035 .

Reducing the brightness significantly reduces battery consumption.

The 7135 has two screen adjustments, brightness and contrast. Both are accessible from Palm preferences-->General screen and there are two dots at the top left and right corners of the graffiti area to access the controls as well. Reducing the backlight can be accompanied by reducing contrast to give a bright appearance still. I run mine at 1/8 Brightness and slightly less than 1/2 contrast. Each screen will slightly vary.

If you "talk" on the handset a lot, disable the backlight during your calls, or use a headset so you can close the flip (which shuts off the backlight). The backlight can be manually disabled, enabled, by holding the "bulb" button at the lowest part of the keypad. In the daylight, it's surprisingly viewable still.

Color PDA screens are brightness driven, not contrast driven like older Palm screens. Disabling the backlight, will cause the screen to not be viewable when not in a direct lighted environment.

Q: DO I need an extra battery/cigarette lighter adaptor, etc? A: I would strongly recommend all of the above. It's a small investment to keep your 7135 going.
