I'm glad to see that people out there are still using there 6035s, cause i'm trying to get mine back up and running. I got the people at radioshack to put my phone in the system and its in there, but he sent me to the Sprint store to update its programming. Well after trips to three different Sprint stores my phone still isn't working One tech did give me the programing instructions for my phone and the msl so i can fix it, but they all say they don't have the cables/software.
I'm at SX 1.1.11 KT 1.1.19 and PRL 10014
I think my PRL is too old and since I have KT 1.1.19 I can't use *2 to get an OTA update.
Whenever I try to use my phone (even calling *2) all i get is "Your account cannot be validated" - "try calling *2" !!!
My SID is 4106 - i've also read of 4162 and 4168 for use in the northeast, but 4106 is supposed to be Boston which is closeish. My directory number is 8609858849, but that doesn't work anymore than *2.
Bottom line is this - I need a new PRL, but the only one i've found is 10026 and but customer care said I should have 10023
I'm also leary of upgrading my KT to 1.1.23 since some people have mentioned that it killed there phone. But even so, I can't find a copy of it anyway.
Lastly, I have kwpst but it doesn't see my phone through the cradle. It sees the port, but not the phone. I've tried it on a XP and a 2000 machine with the same results. I'm gonna pull out my old 98 box to see if it will work on there. The kwpst version is 3.2 build 7.
If anyone has any ideas or files that you could send me, that would be great! I need to try and fix this soon so i can back out of contract in time if neccesary.
Thanks alot - Benjamin

The kt is the sprint software part of the programming - Good news is, i got sprint to update my phone - new kt 1.1.23, new prl 10029, bad news is my phone still ain't working. The Sprint computer says my SID should be 40092, but when i put that in my phone, it doesn't save it right, just shows a 0. I don't think it will accept any 5 digit SID, so i've put in the 4162 SID for NY, I'm in Connecticut. I'm losing faith in my ability to get this thing to work, any body with any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I've had a 6035 for a long time on sprint. Within the last couple of weeks the phone has been unable to connect reliably. When I do a hard reset I can connect for a few minutes, but then I get the message: "Service Required. Contact Provider". Does this really mean "Your phone is now a brick" or could it be that I just need the right combination of firmware/prl/etc...? Are there other users out there with similar problems? If you have a working 6035 on sprint could you please let me know what your versions of things are?

SRCP ("Service Required - Contact Provider") is the official Kyocera headstone. It is the default message that overrides the phone side of their pda phones and all functions on non-pda's. When other mfr's tranceivers fail, the screen usually just says "searching..." or "no service" but Kyocera built an override screen instead. On a phone this old, w/o E911, I would recommend shopping for something new. As great as the 6035 is, you can get all the 6035 does plus hi-speed internet and COLOR in a new product. The 911 is reason enuf to change. Right now, if you manage to dial 911, but are disoriented or in shock, unable to provide your location verbally, they won't be able to get assistance to you beyond the region your cell site is located in. With E911, the GPS chip in new phones will get them w/i about 150 feet, not 1 sq. mi.
