I don't see why not. As long as you can get the subsidy unlock code you should be all set.

I would like to thank you all. I now have controll over my smartphone. I experienced the same problem as guillame. After changing the codes I could not get back into my phone with the old codes or the new 0's. I had to take out the battery and then use the original code and change them again to 000000.
I was wondering if someone smarter than I would like to work on the Sprint algorithem? I would be willing to post my ESN # and the MSL that Sprint gave me. If others would do the same, with enough samples someone might be able to work it out.

In step 3 you mentin that you used KC 1.0.10 for your verizon account. Is this correct? I did the same and have had no ill effects, but I thought the KC file was for the Altell network per other posts on this board. Anyone know what the differances are between the different carriers build files are?

3. This is optional I assume, but I then upgraded the phone and palm firmware to KC 1.0.10 and SX 1.0.11 thanks to some of the info in this forum (downloads, and links to Kyocera PDF docs that walk one through the flashing process). I have not tested every feature of my phone yet, so I am not certain these upgrades were wise, any who.

My phone is up and working on Verizon now. However, when ever I use a *228 to program, *661 to check carrior, or *86 for voicemail, I go to Sprint. I have tried the *22800 and have reached Verizon programming but it fails. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks
Joe

If I recall correctly there is an option (checkbox in the programming mode area) to enable/disable the OTA programming. Make certain it is enabled. I don't know why it would not be enabled already though.

Hi,
I bought a Sprint phone and now have it (sort of) working on Verizon. I followed the how-to posted here and got the basics working on the phone.
BUT
I am having similar problems to a previous post by Joe42. The OTA programming fails when I call it and all the *2XXX codes seem to send me to sprint. Also my voicemail notification doesn't work. The last thing that is annoying but not really fatal is that I have to dial 10 digit local calls even though my area does not require it. So I'm in the 408 area code and my land line (and everybody else's cellphones) work fine with 7 digit dialing however I must dial 10 digits on this phone.
I even flashed the KZ1010.hxb image onto the phone hoping to fix the problems but it didn't seem to change anything.
Any help would be appreciated,

I just bought a Sprint PCS Kyocera 6035 palm phone and I FOUND A WAY TO USE IT ON THE VERIZON NETWORK!!!! It's fairly easy and doesn't cost a thing. here's how to do it:
> Goto www.sprintPCS.com
> click on "Activate your phone online" link
> choose option "I am a new Sprint PCS customer. I have a Sprint PCS Phone and need a service plan." and click start
> Enter your zip code, click next
> click continue
> Enter only personal info that it asks for (there is no need to enter your real data, bogus data will do just fine!)
> follow instructions until you get to the part where you set up your phone. They'll ask you for a number that is found on the phone under the battery, enter it. they'll give you a 6 digit number, write it down. Click on the link that says the number didn't work, and they'll give you a second number (the first number is a one time use number, the second number can be used several times I think). Take the phone to a verizon center with the unlock numbers (take both just in case one doesn't work), and they can flash the phone. I hope this helps!

Okay... I seem to be missing something here. I used to work for a cellular provider, and working inside the phones doesn't bother me one bit... but I can't get my QCP-6035 to work with Verizon for the life of me! I called Verizon (big mistake) and they gave me the whole run-around about "special chips" inside the phone and how this phone will NEVER work with Verizon becuase it is a PCS phone and all that BS. Clearly this will work after reading the posts here.. but what am I doing wrong???? I have the SC and FCS changed, and can access my programming screen any darn time I feel like it... have the SID changed, etc... but no Verizon. When I try to OTA programming I still get Sprint. PLEASE HELP!!!

The only thing Verizon wanted was the ecn number. Never told them I had a sprint phone. I was just switching service from an old analog phone so I already had the phone number. The only other thing that I had to change was the home sid number to the local verizon sid. I also got other provider messages before I put in the correct sid for verizon.

I'm not sure what your problem might be. I never changed any settings, I just took the phone with the codes into the verizon store. they did all the changing. You might have to break down and do the same.
is the SC and FSC codes set to "000000"? (under the "General" Dropdown Tab)

I want to thank "burval" the wizard...great stuff. Did the Staples->Sprint->Verizon thing with no hitches. Great phone, even better that you took the time to share your knowledge. Thanks!

FYI
I originally had SW Version SX 1.0.06 on my phone and I had a bunch of problems (see previous posts). As soon as I upgraded to SX 1.0.11 almost everything was fixed. The only reason I say almost is that accessing my voicedialing database causes the phone to crash now(it worked before) but everything else works including *codes. Any ideas?
Another difference I noticed upgrading from SX 1.0.06 to 1.0.11 was that I now have outgoing SMS under the messages menu. (it wasn't there at all before) Cool feature, I hope its not too expen$ive.
Anyway if anyone has any ideas about the voicedial problem I would appreciate help.
