BT Help Needed Bad

I cannot get my HP BT GPS to work with my jam. I have the latest ROM build for the WWE version I have. I tried to use Pocket Bluetooth Tools and that did make the GPS device work properly, but it caused all kinds of other problems with my device. the bt kept on freezing. I have removed the tools app and once again i can bond with the device but it is not recognized as a com port. can anyone try to help me. has anyone been succesful in getting this to work. There are several apps in jam relating to BT and I am not sure if maybe I am missing something. There is the BT under connections, the BT icon in taskbar and in settings there is a BT setup app. any help is appreciated.

I finally got it, for those of you that may be experiencing the same problem. Here is what I did.

1. Delete the BT GPS bond listed in the BT application under devices
2. Make sure the GPS device is off.
3. Open the application called BT Setting under Start, Settings, System.
4. Check mark BT Serial Port Setup “Outbound COM port”.
5. It will tell you to start bonding with device.
6. Click ok and the BT application opens up.
7. Check mark Turn on Bluetooth.
8. Now turn on GPS device.
9. Tap the Devices tab and search for new device.
10. Follow the steps to bond with device.
11. Then when finished tap the COM ports tab.
12. Tap on New Outgoing Port.
13. Select the GPS device you just setup and then click on OK.
14. The serial port box was empty so I just left it that way.
15. I then opened up the Navigation software (mine is HP Ipaq Navigation System)
16. Under Tools inside of app I opened up GPS setup where I was able to select the COM port. I selected COM port 5 and then it all worked.

I tried to set this up so many times and couldn’t get it to work. Every time I selected COM port 5 in the Navigation software it would error and say that a serial connection could not be established. I think not turning on the GPS device until after I did number 4 above and doing number 13 and 14 as I did is what got everything in order.

I had the same problem exactly with the pockt pc bluetooth tools. my bluetooth kept freezing, my headset did not function well, but the GPS did...

tried the 16 steps suggseted, unfortunatly with no help.

I downloaded the bluetooth tool version 1.0, for installation on the PPC (not through a PC) and installed it. thn, I followed the 16 steps...
Then I bonded my GPS with my i-mate JAM, and tried to assign a serial port (6) to the GPS through the bluetooth tool.

The funny thing is that when I ran my navigation SW, it discoverd the GPS on port 5. go figure.

Bottom line, it works now, both the GPS and the headset, and so far I did not have any more bluetooth problems.
