Question Sent SMS problem (kinda...)

Hi!

I'm recently bought an xdaII mini and i must say, the device is great. I have no problem with its PDA functionality. Phone functions is tops too.

I just have one problem, though, regarding this issue with my sent text messages (SMS). I'm a kinda heavy user of SMS and I don't know if this is an issue with the phone or the OS.

My problem is that the phone doesn't show the contact name of whom I sent my message with. In the sent folder, the phone gives you the list of your sent SMS but it only showed the contact number, not the contact name. This is a problem for me bcoz I sometimes recycle my messages and I need to know whom I sent it to. I cannot memorize my contact list's numbers and their matching names!!! This is not a problem for me on my previous (ordinary cellphone, a nokia 6600).

I would appreciate any help from you guys. Many thanks!

I'm surprised you don't have a reply yet, because I have the same problem .................

Actually, if I send an sms as a reply to a received sms, then the name shows up. But if I send an sms from the contacts application, only the number shows up.

Does anyone have an answer ??? Is it possible to show the sms name, it makes life a lot easier ................

If anyone has an answer, please post it here ............

Much appreciated, Romi

Back in my old days with the Samsung i700, it had this same type of issue. There was an app called SMS name (or something like that).

I also have this issue. I send alot of SMS, but to the same few peeps

Let me see if I can find it and if it fixes it.

Found it and no it didn't help. After looking at it, I think it was a problem with rec'd messages only displaying the number.

Oh well...

YEah... this phone has alot of SMS problems.

My biggest qripe is that when I hit Reply to a txt, it never gets there! I have to compose a new txt every time.

And this forum does not offer too much help- fyi. The heavy-weights are all on 6600s and now jumping to the i730, so I've never really solved a problem here.

Your best bet is to look this same issue up at the xda developers forum under the HTC magician- same phone as the imate jam. But be wary of upgrades- they are most likely not intended for your jam.
