Any way to get a replacement "Getting Started" disk?

Hi All,

Bought a TyTN II off fleabay, and really enjoy the phone. Unfortunately, the "getting started" disk got trashed. Literally, as in, "Honey, where is the box my phone came in?" "Oh, I threw it out." Is there any real need to have it? I managed to set up activesynch off the MS web site, and have things working pretty much as I need them, so i wondered what I might be missing?

Since it's a P4550 and not a tilt, HTC aren't too keen on helping either.

The only thing that's on the getting started disc that you might miss is Sprite Backup, and that's available from other sources. You'll be fine without it.

isn't the modem driver that is needed to allow for tethering on the CD? that might be something someone would want.

Nope, it's not. No installation from the CD required for that.

Tytn II Getting Started Disc

I have given my phone to my sales guy and the getting stated disc is missing and the phone tells me that i need to install software from the dics before i can connect to active sync.
Is this true as I have exhausted every avenue?

The getting started CD provided with the phone is no more useful to you than a coaster. There is nothing that is there that you'll need to get the phone up and running.

As I mentioned earlier, the only thing that the disk provides that you might want is Sprite Backup, and that can be downloaded from XDA-Developers or other sources. There are no drivers and nothing else you require from that CD.

still need the drivers...

Alas, I too, misplaced my "Getting Started" cd, but the problem lies deeper than just re-installing ActiveSync. I need to be able to use"internet sharing" for internet connectvity, and activesync doesn't seem to have anything to do with that. Help! I really need to be able to get on the 'net with my laptop, and my tilt is the only option I have right now. Help!

ICS isn't installed from the getting started CD as I recall. It's installed, but you'll need to add a shortcut for it (check in the Windows directory).

But if you're looking for that, I believe there's a CAB file for the installer at XDA-Developers for phones where it actually has been removed from the WM features in the ROM.
