That's all it does. I haven't had a stock AT&T ROM on my Tilt for several months so I honestly don't remember what other programs were missing.

My USB speed is just OK, but my bluetooth speed is VERY SLOW. I am not using the ATT comm manager. Do you have any clue why? You said your internet is working fast with the tilt tethering.

How are you measuring the speed? I'd hook up the tethering, then go run a bandwidth test (Speakeasy - Speakeasy, Inc. - Broadband, Voice and Data Services has a very good one). BT is going to peak somewhere around 1.5Mbps due to limitations on BT speed. USB can get faster than that if you've USB 2.0 ports.

So how are you reaching the conclusion that BT is slow?

Will this exe file do the same thing as PDAModem or USBModem does as far as connecting to internet without the extra tethering charges?

The charges are just a matter of AT&T figuring out that you're doing it without paying for the added service. ICS is just an app like PDAModem that makes it possible.

The bigger issue for them "figuring it out" is probably the proxy server that's in play with the stock config, which might see that you're not reporting a WM platform for your browser, but I doubt they even look if the usage isn't particularly high.

Ok guys, I would like to ask about an additional wrinkle to this. I would like to connect my Sony PSP so it can see the internet thru the phone.

Supposedly a Sony PSP can use a WiFi Hotspot to travel thru the internet to its home Playstation 3, which in turn can stream content from your home PC. If I am driving or simply someplace with no WiFi, piping thru the 3G netrwork should achieve the same goal, right?

Well, I looked into an app called WMWiFiRouter (WMWifiRouter - Welcome) which enables the Tilt to act as a WAP using an Ad Hoc Wi fi connection. It works for some things but PSP appears to disable hitting the internet when using an Ad Hoc connection.

So, if I can't connect the Tilt and PSP wirelessly, it would seem reasonable that a wired solution is possible...reasonable solutions are not always existing solutions.

How would I connect the 2 devices? If you have had any success with this wired solution, that would be awesome. In fact, if you know of anything that has enabled a successful wireless solution between the Tilt and PSP, any info would rock.

If I am streaming music and video via PSP or streaming Music and Video thru some of the many apps out there that let you watch live TV or internet radio ...is there really a differnece that would set off their 'Alarm' to realize I am using a PSP versus just the Tilt?

Can you make calls and be connected to the internet at the same time?

Only if the signal is "3G" or better. It is not possible with the slower EVDO.

I use EVDO on the Verizon Wireless network and found out it's not possible to make a call on the phone and keep the tethered connection active. But has anybody tried talking on the phone while tethered on the Tilt? I read on xda forums you might be able to do it if you set the connection setting to UMTS.

If you're on the AT&T 3G network, you can tether and talk at the same time. I've done it while on the road myself.

Oh, is there a way to set up a PAN just like a DUN and have a bandwidth close to 900 kbps without paying the extra $ for tethering?
