Sorry if I missed something on here... i see no sticky on this and a search for ROM turns up nothing found (I am sure a search engine issue)... I see that the HTC site has a number of updates available dated 8/4... what is the safest, latest updates that I should have for a Tilt? Not looking for cutting edge with possible issues... just the latest, solid software.

I'm grabbing the new update now. I had the update they'd released previously and it was working OK. I'll let you know how this one goes.

Ah. We've a "Date" issue. 8/4/08 is April 8 2008, which is the one I'm running. Works quite nicely for me. Nothing cutting edge, but definitely servicable.

I know there are a number of "cooked" ROMs based on this ROM at XDA-Developers.

Strange... if it were written 08/04/2008 I could see that being April 4, but the HTC site has it shown as 2008-08-04... I have never seen the day before the month when the year is shown first like that...

OR, may be I am following the wrong link... I went to HTC - Touch Phone, PDA Phone, Smartphone, Mobile Computer, Support, TiTynII, Downloads. When I enter teh serial # it tells me this is not for my phone.

Try changing to the UK site. If you're in the US and purchased a TyTN II it may have been a UK import. In order to figure out what was going on, I had to go to the download and look. For whatever reason, they've localized the Downloads based on the serial #, so you seem to have to be at the country of origin. Once I went to that site, the SN worked for me.

OK... I was not on the US site specifically... now it works...

I did notice that for other HTC models that Windows 6.1 is available... anyone know why that is not on the Tilt list and if it will be any time soon? If I am going to start from scratch I'd hate to have to do it again in a week or two.

The August date is when HTC redid part of their site. The last official Tilt ROM upgrade was January... Apparently HTC has the ATT ROM and is waiting for the green light from ATT.

Note that there is a more recent ROM for the TyTN II and not the Tilt, and that may also be confusing things. The TyTN II ROM is from April.

Anyone know when Windows 6.1 is expected for the Tilt?

MarkAtHome, what were you referring to with "HTC has ATT ROM"? Another ROM upgrade or the WM 6.1?

The Tilt ROM apparently was recently posted. They've got one on the HTC site for it. There's a thread with a link to it in this forum.
