Question voicemail and missed call notifications AT&T Tilt

Greetings,

I'm not sure if this is a phone thing or a network thing ... when I have a missed call and someone leaves a message, I get two notifications, one for each. BUT I get the voicemail notification forst, then the missed call, meaning that I don't see who called before I go check. Is there any way to make missed calles come up first, before voicemail notifications?

Thanks

Are you sure about the sequence of arrival, or is this just what you're seeing? Notifications are typically displayed in a "Last in First out" order in my experience, so the one you received most frequently is usually the first one visible when you look at notifications on the phone. So the voice mail notification usually shows up first in the list, but was actually received second. Usually, you have "1 of 2" or something similar showing in the upper right hand portion of the notification, and hitting right on the D-pad moves to the second notification (received first).

yeah

I am getting exactly what you suggest ... last in first out. so if I get one missed call which results in a voice mail, I get the voicemail note first, then after I deal with that I get the missed call. Well, that's useless. What do I care about the missed call after I have already listened to my voicemail and heard who it was? I want to know who called *before* I bother to check my voicemail. My last phone was the other way, always missed calls first, so I guess I am just accustomed to the exception. Damn. So no way to simply make missed calls the first notification?

I will try the "choose second notification" thing you suggest. I haven't noticed that option.

Thank you.

That's "standard" WM behavior, unfortunately, so I'm betting you came from a different platform. Personally, I ignore notifications from the phone and use SPB PhoneSuite to show me indicators of number of missed calls, voice mail, etc.. I have the notifications off in the settings since it's a cleaner interface. Then you can check what you want in whatever order you want.

I also skip the AT&T voice mail altogether and use CallWave so that my messages are sent to me in a WAV file via e-mail. Then I don't burn any time dialing, I just check my e-mail and open the recording. Works like a charm.

Perfalbion,

I also use the spbPhoneSuite for missed calls, e-mail received, and voice mail indicators... I have turned off Notifications in Windows Settings for those 3 items... yet I still get the pop-up notifications at the bottom of the screen... anyone know what I am missing?

Can you provide which check boxes are set in the notification settings?

Original 1.52... I posted another thread asking about latest versions on HTC web site from 8/4/08... may be that will correct the issue.

I'd like to bump this one... I had chalked it up to a ROM issue, but I just upgraded to the latest WM6.1 HTC OEM Rom... and WITHOUT any additional software install, I disabled Messaging: New e-mail received notifications (leaving sound enabled)... and I still get notification pop-ups on the bottom of the screen! My e-mail is from an Exchange server (added under ActiveSync)... could this be the issue? Is that controlled by a different setting?
