AT&T Tilt

I can turn my phone off and on via the power button. So this button not working is out of the question. I have this instance that happens once in a while where the phone will go into power save mode and the screen will go black. Upon hitting the power button expecting it to refresh the screen and either bring up the most recent screen or the lock pad, it stays on the black screen. No matter what button combination you try it will remain on a black screen seeming responseless to all key commands...

I asked my boss (whom has the same phone) and he said every once in a while he experiences the same issue. Only way to overcome it is take the battery out and placed it back in and boot up the phone.

I have yet to upgrade the firmware of the phone or run Windows Updates which I'll do in the near future when I have a chance. Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced the same issue.

A soft restart doesn't fix the issue?

Every once in a while my phone hangs. Using the stylus to do a soft reset has never failed to bring it back. I've had it hang with the screen blank, but I've never had to go to the extent of pulling the battery to restart it.

So you are running a stock AT&T Rom ... but which one? The original one, or the updated one that was released in Feb 2008?

The updated rom released in Feb is ROM Version: 1.62.502.0

You problem is commonly referred to as the Dark Screen Of Death ... DSOD.
