Recently my Tilt starting having an issue where the "word completion" feature doesn't work anymore. I've checked under Start | Settings | Personal | Input | Word Completion. The setting for Suggest words when entering text is checked and set for:

Suggest after entering 2 letters.
Suggest 4 words.

I think I've located the problem starting after I loaded KaiserTweak. I recently upgraded to a new ROM and it started working again. However, after I reloaded KaiserTweak, it seem to stop working.

Has anyone experience this. It is extremely annoying and makes the device less "one-handed".

Any help or ideas to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

KaiserTweak has a huge number of settings, and those settings vary by version since the settings files for each is different. The application itself is "harmless" - the settings that it changes for each individual tweak are only applied when you actually run the program. But one of the settings that you changed using the app could definitely be the cause of your problem?

Have you scrolled through the list of tweaks and looked to see what your particular version has on and off? Do you know which ones you've changed (they used to do a very good job of indicating default vs. changed settings) so you can undo each individually to test?

I also use KaiserTweak, but I haven't updated it in about 5 months and don't experience the issue you're referring to.

Yes. I've gone through KaiserTweak and check the settings. There seems to only be one setting for this and it only allows increasing the number of suggested words above the standard 4. I've tried all the settings and still no joy.

***Solution: disable XT9 under KaiserTweak and do a soft reset***

I'm using the 3/7/08 XML version of KaiserTweak. Under recent versions there is a section called Text Messages

Text Messages
---Sent Notifications
---XT9
---Threaded SMS (WM6.1 only)

XT9 is disabled by default. KaiserTweak recommends enabling this. If I enable it, I lose the ability to do word completion. However, here is the twist -- if you disable it to regain the word completion, you MUST do a soft reset for it to take effect. After the soft reset, your word completion will work again.

I don't know if there is a way to enable/disable the XT9 on the fly from a keyboard. I saw several references for other PDA models where they talked about this and being in XT9 mode disables word completion, but toggling back to abc mode fixes it. I'm disabling for now so I can have my word completion.
