How do you connect HTC TyTN II to external GPS? (Parrot 3400 LS-GPS)

1. I have an HTC TyTN II with built-in GPS, but would like to connect to the external GPS (Parrot 3400 LS-GPS) so I can hear nav instructions through the car speakers.

The PDA user guide tells me to connect using 2 different ports from the available dropdown (1 for program and 1 for hardware) from COM0, COM1, COM2 etc up to COM8. How this should be done?

2. Also, when pairing the device, the HTC is not listed, do I connect it as 'Other phones' or 'Windows CE' (as it runs a Windows Mobile OS)

3. What should be baud rate be set at? Default is 480.

Thanks!
Rod

don't have an answer for you question but I have a question for you. I'm about to purchase an unlocked AT&T 8925 tilt which is bassically the same as the TyTN II. Are you happy with your phone? Worth the money?
Hope you get your gps sorted out

I guess I'm a bit confused. You want the TyTN II to connect to another GPS? Or to the car stereo? I'm not sure why the Parrot is in the picture here since I'd think you'd want to go from the phone directly to the car stereo. If that's the case, we need more details on the stereo - does it support bluetooth connections? USB? An Aux jack?

If you're trying to go phone - Parrot - car stereo, I think you're making things harder than you need to. You'd be better off looking for cables that will connect the phone to the car or establishing a BT connection there.

Regardless, it doesn't sound like you want a BT connection to the external GPS - you're not looking to provide GPS data to it or get GPS data from the Parrot, just sound. And that's a different ball of wax.
