using the tilt to replace an ipod

I've used my tilt to play MP3s, but not other types of media - is there software that will allow me to sync the songs to the device - much like itunes?
Also, is there a way to play podcasts, video again, in a fashion more like an ipod? I've used media player, but some of what i'm asking may already be inherent in it - but i haven't tried - i'd like to avoid going with an ipod as much as i can. what i've found is that i enjoy synching podcasts and listening to them in the car via a av port. i found a 3-in-1 adapter that looks like i can use the tilt in somewhat the same fashion. i just think the mediaplayer UI is pretty abysmal and don't know if i can actually synch rather just move data from one drive to the smart card and it takes quite a bit of time.

My pc configuration - Vista x64 Ultimate

Although I do not use it for songs doesn't WMDC in Vista support syncing media?

It does, but it's slow as could be when syncing directly to the phone. An SD adapter is a much better idea to get media onto a card.

Skip Windows Media Player and grab HTC Audio Manager instead. Much smaller/nicer/easier.

+1 on the Audio Manager!

I too wanted to trade in my iPod for the tilt. (phone, music player, etc..) But since I do some running, I won't be talking on the phone much, and with the Nike+ Ipod kit, it'll help keep my records.

Needless to say, if all you want to do is listen to music and stay connected via phone/web. HTC Audio Manager on the Tilt is the way to go!

Just google it and it should pop up!
