I've switched roms a few times, and most everything works great. But I recently tried sending and receiving text messages with people... and they don't seem to get through. I tried putting my phone on, and taking it off the Cingular proxy server... but that hasn't made any difference.

I'll check XDA Developers, but if anyone here has any insight, it would be EXTREMELY appreciated!!!

I just got mine on Friday. When I first powered it on, it installed several add-on patches and programs, one of them was an SMS patch.

I've had no problems sending and receiving Text Messages and MMS picture messages worked great too. Over the weekend, I scouted out XDA Developer's website and switched to the Black 3.0.1 ROM, Text messages are working great on it too.

After seeing this message, I used "Pimp My Black" to unlock and mount the Extended ROM, and found this SMS patch .cab (attached) inside the "Extended ROM Storage Card" with File Explorer.

My apologies, I should have responded to my own thread sooner. When I switched to Cingular, I originally told them I'd like to get the $5/month text messaging plan. But before the phone arrived, I decided I didn't need it and cancelled the plan.

And while I was pretty sure I'd set text messages successfully from my 8525, it wasn't until recently I tried and they failed. When I called AT&T, the tech told me the settings for text messaging were missing from my account.

Long story short, I got the problem resolved shortly after my post. But thanks for your insight and info!
