My guess would be that it wouldn't work perfectly... the HTC US site will have the official build for the 8525, not the asia site. Device drivers and such could be different for att's build.
That been said- I've run 3-4 different leaked wm6 builds that have been configured for the 8525 - currently the Touch Rom... and if ATT released WM6 now I definitely would not do their upgrade.
Follow up thought: if it's out tomorrow- chances are you'll have a real answer within a few hours. If others report positively then there's no reason not to try it... if your interested. Probably a few registry edits and it would be fine for ATT
Your device is CID (carrier ID) locked. This means that when you try to flash a ROM from a different carrier, your phone won't allow it. There are ways around it. Your phone would work just fine with the new ROM once you input your data and keyboard settings for AT&T.
IMHO, running some of the cooked WM6 ROMs will give you a much better experience than any HTC/carrier released ROM.

This looks promising for anyone interested... but I completely agree with URPREY - once you've run some cooked wm6 roms, it will feel as thoguh the standard build does pretty little more than wm5
Thanks for all of the input. I think that I'll actually wait for the official AT&T upgrade since my company actually provides the phone for me...and I actually rely on it more than my laptop!

YOU can't get there from here...but I can!
I did that upgrade now my WIFI does not work any ideas.....
use the Proxy Manager under Programs to turn the proxy OFF. Then wifi will work. Only turn on the proxy when using MediaNet stuff like XM Radio or Celluar Video.
