Stuff for our HTC

I was wondering if anyone knows of any software so we can watch .avi and other movie files on our pda. Most of my files are not windows media player files, and I don't want to keep translating them. I also want to be able to go on youtube and watch videos or allfg and just watch videos from my wifi.

Also, does anyone know why our camera can't zoom in? Seriously....theres a zoom in button, but it can't zoom. Is our cam just not good enough, or is it the software that we have, wont let us zoom? Can we get new software?

Lastly, anyone put pocket nester onto their PDA? Cuz I can't seem to find the rgiht emulator, if anyone has it, could them pm me?

I hope you guys find more cool stuff for out TYTN!

PS. Did anyone buy thier tytn through rogers, b/c my video conferencing call thing is disabled and I was wondering if anyone knew how to enable it, or if I can. I have the small vga cam at the front and the button, but the button doesn't work.
Thanks guys!

Wil

You'll want to download TCPMP. It's a free video/audio player. It works great, but you have to set the video to "raw framebuffer". It plays almost any format out there.

TCPMP

There are a few plugins on that page you might need also depending on the content you try to play back.

Almost forgot - you can't zoom the camera when you have the size set to 2M.

Hey Thanks man!

Thanks URPREY!!

The player works great once you change the setting you said and mainly...its FREE! Although I actually found coremedia player (CorePlayerâ„¢ Mobile. CorePlayer™ Mobile - Enables Next-Generation dig...-CoreCodec.com - On the forefront of Audio and Video Multimedia Technology) through limewire. I haven't downloaded it yet b/c the player you said works fine, other than I think it messed up my windows media player from reading from the storage card, I have to go to windows explorer for it to see the storage card.

One thing though, I was wondering if you think the coremedia player from the website above is better than the tcpmp software? I have no idea about video formats, buffers and the sorts. If it's better, you can d/l it from limewire for free....just so everyone knows.

Also, your right, the cam can only zoom on S,M or L, and not 1 or 2 megapixels which is weird. Maybe we can try to find software to allow the camera to do better things and zoom at 2 mega pixels.

I was wondering if you knew anything about pocketnester, b/c the version I keep d/l doesnt have a executable file.

Thanks again URPREY!

The camera can't zoom at 2mp because it doesn't really zoom at all. At the lower resolutions it is simply using the entire 2mp and cropping out the center based on the "zoom" factor. When in 2mp mode, you are using the entire sensor all ready, therefore there is nothing left to crop off in order to zoom.

Hmm.....yeah, that might be the case with the zoom. I don't know, but that sounds like it makes sense. In that case, you might as well leave it at 2mp and then digitally zoom in when you have the pic taken.

Does anyone know if our Processor is a XScale or TI OMAP Pocket PC?
If so, that means we can over clock it correct?

I'm also still looking for pocket nester, the fullest newest version with an exe file in it....cuz all the ones I download have no exe file.

Excited about the WM6 HTC tytn upgrade for us tommorow!!! I hope it works well and stuff. If anyone gets it, make a post and give us some reviews!

The official WM6 for us won't be for a couple more months. You can get "cooked" versions at xda-developers - Xda-developers though.

Ok, no wonder I can't find wm6 yet for our tytn...ill just wait for hte real thing so nothing on my pda messes up!

Hey UPREY...When I downloaded your player, it works well, but now I can't use windows media player to get songs from my SD card. When I try to choose where to find music, it only will pull from "my device" and storage card isnt available anymore. Do you know how to fix this so i can browse my sd card with windwos media player?

I don't use WMP for that so I can't tell you. There should be no connection between the two.
