8525 Car Charger

Why dosnt the same chargers that charge my Razr and PPC6700 charger my new 8525? The only charger that seems to work is the AC charger that was supplied with the phone works. Whats up with that? Is this normal?

Thank you

Well,The At&T store told me that the 8525 uses its own charger. Other mini usb chargers will not work. seems strange that my 8525 will chagre via a usb computer connection with the same cables that i use for my Razr and PPC6700.

i just discovered that if you power down the phone, plug in the charger, power the phone back up, it will charge.

The charger for the 8525 relies on a specific pin inside the charger to be grounded in order for the phone to know it's connected and to start charging.

Hmmm...I've been charging my 8525 via standard USB connectors since I've had it (only a couple of weeks). I haven't even taken the HTC chargers out of the plastic.

Edited: I immediately flashed the 8525 with WM6 (currently on Black Majik) when I got it, so I've never used the Cingular ROM.
