mapping drives

Has anybody successfully mapped a network resource (drive) to a Windows server across G3 or WiFi with a Windows Mobile 5 device ?

Please enlighten me on what you did to accomplish this as I'm getting the error message "The network path was not found" followed by "The network resource was not found, or you don't have permission to connect to the network." no matter what I've tried on my 8525.

VPN logs in just fine but no server files, etc.

TIA
HE

This is just a guess but i would assume that SMB is blocked. I worked for a small internet provider and all SMB was blocked to save bandwidth.

Just me 2 cents

I used Resco File Explorer to map a network drive on my home network and it worked fine. Have you tried that program?

Your best bet I think is Total Commander, it's free and AWSOME! Help is a joke, so in order to access a network share, connect to your WiFi, open Total Commander, and double tap on the \\ off the root and the you'll be presented with 3 options, FTP, LAN, and registry. Double tap LAN and if a login is required, it will prompt you for login credentials. Once on your share, you can "map" it by double tapping in the path and selecting "Add current dir" and naming it whatever you wish. FTP can be done either on WiFi or cellular. Enjoy.
