Issue with connectivity with SD Card

Anyone else having connectivity issues with the SD Card. Several times a day the device stops communicating with the SD Card. I have WeatherPanel loaded on the card which is a today plugin.

I also did some research on XDA Developers and installed the HTC patch. It helped but has not solved the issue. I removed WeatherPanel from the card and put it in main memory to see if it will help although it will use up precious memory in the device.

I have a Sandisk 2 gig card. Thanks for your help.

Hmmm. Sandisk normally makes good cards, so I'd be curious if it's a phone issue. Of course, getting a different memory stick is the cheaper solution depending on the age and warranty of your phone.

I can tell you I use my 8525 regularly for streaming music to my car radio via BT, GPS with an iTrek BT GPS unit and iGuidence 3 software, etc... and I've had no such issues. Hardest part is usually figuring out which way the damn card goes in... and I did have to reseat it on my first install, as something was amiss, but it's been perfect since then, even taking it out once or twice since just goofing off.

Best wishes.

This will probably be a pain in the butt to test... but I've read threads regarding the card's formatting being an issue.

Some say that it must be formatted to Fat32 some saying that fat works... mine is just Fat formatted (i believe) and works fine.

I also have a Sandisk 2gb...

Good luck!

Either of you running a today plug-in which is installed on the SD Card? After I removed WeatherPanel from the card and installed it in main memory, no problems.

Interesting you bring that up... I haven't read about other problems in this area- but when I first had my 8525 I installed a few things on the card (games and such that I wouldn't use as often) - and I do actually remember having some problems... (apps not launching- trouble exploring the card while it was docked through active sync...)

A day or two later I flashed to wm6 and when I reinstalled everything- I put all my apps on the device and it's been fine ever since...

You might be on to something here.

I'd say uninstall everything and re-load onto the device... but then again- that's just a guess.
