How to disable PTT button

How can I disable PTT button? I end up pushing it all the time.

The Kyocera 7135 was great. The XV6600 was even better. So far the 8525 is pretty damn cool...
But I wish for the features of an 8525 with a 3.5" screen, that would be awesome.

Better yet, remap it to something useful like voice dialing.

Go to Hermes - xda-developers and search for 8525 PTT. I installed this very small program last night. It works great and I now have a "Push & Hold" not just "Push" button to activate the built-in voice dialing. You can remap the button to whatever you want, not just voice dialing.

This should work. Like I've said before - XDA Dev is an awesomely comprehensive site... which makes it terribly difficult to navigate

Install this cab - soft reset and then go to your start/settings/buttons and reassign it... then I'd soft-reset again to be safe

Hi Eric,

Sent you a PM.

alylea

Oppps, looks like someone else beat me by 1 minute. xda is an amazing site as he said with plenty of information to get into trouble with.

Hello Alylea,

Got your e-mail. Been traveling and buzy and just getting to it. One question, which folder do I drag the 4 extracted files to?

Yes, I have the data plan. We use Good Messaging for my work push e-mails from corp Outlook server. Works great. The Cingular data network is fast. So far I'm happy. IE is very fast.
