Unhappy UPGRADE TO WM6 ON A TYTN???

Hi, I am a newbie here, plus a newbie on Pocket PC matters.

I have a TyTN with WM5 and wish to upgrade to 6. Problem is after I have done the downloading onto my desktop, and then set the phone to Sync, it starts to install then stops & disconnects. I must have tried 100+ times to do this.

I have searched many forums looking for a answer & found some solutions what other folk have done, but it just will not install!!

I have tried safe mode, 3" away from the USB port, disabling WMDC & installing HTC driver, but no luck!

That is just it, luck. I got my phone Aug 2007 then a few weeks after TyTNII came out!

Does anyone know in simple English how I can upgrade without damaging my phone? Please!

It's been a while since I upgraded this device, but have you tried connecting it to your computer as a "Guest" device versus a "Relationship" device, or vice versa?

Also, after you connect the device to your computer, then execute the upgrade program, what exactly happens prior to your device disconnecting?

Thanks,

Bryan

Hi, Sorry I've not replied b4 now, other important work was required by me elsewhere.

before my TyTN disconnects, the screen goes black. There is no tri-colour at all. On my desktop, it still shows the box "upgrading" but no movement at all. Then the normal green flash comes up on my phone followed by the error "260" on my desktop & it tells me to "quit".

I am still trying!

go to wiki.xda-developers.com and pick the hermes. Look up how to CID unlock/SuperCID. THis will allow you to use and carriers rom image. Also look up hard spl by oli and load that before anything.
