ATT 8525 Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade Question
Ok, here is what I did: I went to the HTC website to upgrade to WM6. Followed all instructions and it worked great.
I usually use this method to remove junkware: hard reset followed by soft reset after screen reads 'customization in 3,2,1'.
Here is the question: when I did the upgrade I noticed that the startup screen said HTC on it, so I followed the onscreen instructions and allowed the device to go through the entire set up process from ATT. In other words, I didn't do a soft reset the first time the device loaded and went into customization. I allowed it to do that because I thought I would just do a hard reset and soft reset later on. So I allowed the initial custoization process and then did a hard reset and soft reset. When I did this though I got the ATT startup screen.
I re-updated my device with WM6 again but I still got the ATT startup screen. I am able to remove the junkware using the method I described. However, my question is, has anyone soft reset their device before the customization process began, and if they have, is there any noticable difference in any way?
Also, the available and total memory seems to be about 10MB less than with WM5, anyoe else have the same issues?
