Just finished my abc test of the Seidio and I got 975mAh consumed from full charge to dead. I'm charging up the stock battery now and will run the same test.

I'm in the process of doing the exact thing that you're doing.

It's interesting to me that Seidio has plenty to say in this thread, discussing availability of their "1500 mAh battery", but have yet to respond to this thread.

and thats a big surprise? shouldnt be

funny how Muegen says they cant figure out how to get over 1200mah and then none of the drain tests have even reached 1200mah let alone the supposed 1500mah

i trust Muegen/LIon theyre "less shady" than Seidio by a mile.

something is adding up to really fishy here, cant figure out how and the tests dont add up....

Seidio will be issuing a lot of refunds very shortly. I'm calling them tomorrow to get my full purchase price plus shipping refunded.

Think they are going to give us a hard time returning these? Let us know what happens.

I've completed testing on both the Seidio "1500 mAh" battery and the stock HTC 1100 mAh battery.

I utilized abcPowerMeter as a tool of measurement. abc displays current draw, avg draw, and total draw.

I ran the following applications throughout the test: TCPMP streaming www.etn.fm/trance-high.m3u, TomTom Nav connected via bluetooth to my Freedom GPS, & full backlight power. In both cases the average draw was approximately 345 mAh.

Both batteries have undergone equal out-of-box conditioning, & have been in use for approximately the same amount of time.

The results, in total draw (the method of measuring total battery capacity), prior to shut down:

Seidio = 1056 mAh

HTC = 1090 mAh

The right thing for Seidio to do, is:

1.) Post how they've measured & verified battery capacity prior to selling these so called extended batteries.
2.) Provide money back guarantees to those who do not get "as advertised" results.

Having said that, I doubt they will be issuing any refunds. That's the problem with online shops. I'm sure they'll come up with every reason in the book to dispute our findings.

Just wait - sooner or later that Cygone guy will pop up with "nonsense" and accuse you all of making this stuff up. I've kept my mouth shut, but I will never buy anything again from Seidio. Check this thread, starting with post #74. - sheureka

I wish I'd read your posts in the other thread before I made a decision to buy from them. The problem is that these guys are all over the place on this site.

I'm sure that they will issue refunds or they will be crucified on the forums and should/will be banned from every forum.

My stock battery test will be completed shortly but it's looking like it will end up nearly identical to the Seidio "extended" battery, very similar to what 8notime found.

yeh sheureka found the same thing i did earlier in here- another suspected person who works for seidio coming in here self-promoting Seidio. thats bull, the whole company should be banned from the site by the owners if theyre found to be doing such practices. Let the products stand or fall by themselves quit being shady about it having your own people vouch for them secretly like normal uses.

dont count on refunds guys Seidio always has an answer for everything how its the users fault or their phone's fault and defective. Once again why i never buy anything from them, truely shady business. Id honestly rather buy off fleabay its safer anyways which is sad to say

Nevermind, the stock battery OUTLASTED the Seidio. I got 1025mAh via the abc meter before it died.

So we have:

stock - 1025mAh
Seidio - 975mAh

stock wins by just over 5%

8notime got:

stock - 1090mAh
Seidio - 1056

stock wins by just over 3%

lol %'s dont matter though its SUPPOSED to be a 1500 mah battery!! thats average 1/3 less mah than what they claim either way. SCAM

the stock battery is pretty much close on its 1100mah so 1025/1090 are decently close numbers. Proves these 1500mah batteries are scams

This is not good news at all. I like my Siedio super extended battery for my Q, but other products I have had not so good experiences with in the past. So now where to get a super/extended batteries from?

Working in electronics manufacturing I know that batteries don't always have the exact capacity they are supposed to. Pretty much any electronic component has some range of fault tolerance and even 2 batteries coming off the same line could have different capacities.

All that being said however a battery being sold as 1500mAh which is not even getting to 1000mAh is way, way, out of range of any half way decent tolerance range.

Two or three units which are tested and fail doesn't mean they are all the same but it doesn't look to hopeful.

Because over there they don't have anyone using a tool such as abcBatteryMeter to verify their products. Seidio is maintaining that if someone "feels" they are getting extended life from the Seido battery, vs. the stock battery, then they must be.

Paul - I love my Freedom GPS BTW. Good to see you over hear chiming in.

I unfortunately do not get the time to post on here as much as I would like to about non work (to me) related things. I was thinking about getting a couple of these batteries myself though so was very interested in the testing.

They did seem very dismissive in their reply on the other forum. As you know I check this forum (and others) regularly for mention of our own products and if I see issues come up I try and address them a bit better then this Seido rep has.

Just completely dismissing the tests the way he did isn't really putting my concerns to rest.

If it was my product the first thing I would have done is test a bunch of the stock I had to hand using the same method that the user reporting the issue had. If the results where the same I would check them with my own methods to see if the results match and then go from there.

This might well be what they are doing but from the reply it seems like they are just saying "thats wrong because this guy here thinks it works better" and not doing anything to show why these results are wrong or just a one of blip.

Just my opinion anyway. I don't actually have one of the batteries so cant really contribute anything meaningful. I will be watching this thread with interest though.

I bought a 2400 mAH battery for my Treo from Seidio and I was very happy with it. I was thinking about getting one for my Touch but after seeing these results there is no way I would buy one.

I am glad I waited.

lol yeh that was me i called them out on it from the results here. this is the GREAT response from Seidio:

"If what you said is true, then read the feedback of post # 26 in this thread. Mtnmedic will not see any imporvement over the stock battery at all in using Seidio's battery. But thta is not the case. Below is Post # 26 by mtnmedic

Well, I've had mine for quite a while and I still consistently get 24-28 hours' worth of use out of it, depending on what I do with it. Of course, this is with the battery hacks mentioned earlier (but then, who WOULDN'T want battery power management enabled?).

It's a good battery. Get yourself one. You won't be disappointed. The stock battery door is a little tough to put back on but it DOES go on. Now the phone has a nice solid feel to it.'

lol...so because one idiot who didnt do any number testing likes it, oh well thats my company's refute to your claim.

wow these guys are TOTAL morons and people just buy into that crap. They totally change the subject and say hey look this ONE PERSON likes it. Yeh, what bout you guys' tests? Go figure theyre scammers
