Official Touch Bugs/Issues Thread

If you run into any issues with the Touch, please post them here.

1.) Upon launching the Sprint TV program, the screen sticks in landscape mode, even after you've closed the application.

Workaround: Press the settings button in the HTC today bar, and use the rotate option to rotate the screen back to portrait

2.) Volume in Sprint TV stinks.

Workaround: Haven't found one yet.

I would also note that I'm surprised the cube doesn't display automatically. In fact I haven't even figured out how to launch it yet.

Swipe your finger upward on the screen starting at the sprint logo. To close, swipe downward.

FYI...when I first launched my Sprint TV it told me there was an update. Once installed, it fixed the landscape problem. Now it switches back to portrait before closing.

Weird... it didn't say that to me.

You're talking about the log above the DPAD, right? Mine doesn't activate when I do what you said. I wonder if the Sprint store didn't let the customizations run on my phone when he boot it up.

Edit: Okay I got it to work, but using my thumb alone doesn't activate it. I have to use my fingernail. Not sure I like the idea of that so much.

Volume in Sprint TV is controlled by normal volume control (slider) and d-pad both. Push the d-pad right. It's plenty loud on most channels, but levels vary a lot by channel.

How long have you waited? It can take a few hours to provision.

Anyone inserted an SD card yet? Man I had to use a pointed knife to pry the cover off the side.

Call them back. I've had to do this in the past, and usually there's been some setting they missed in the provisioning. It's a great opportunity to get your unlock code also.

hey should we be good and add these to the wiki? After all do we want everyone to have to dig thru threads later on?

Yeah - a bit awkward, but just needed fingernails to open cover, then fingernail to push card in. I don't like that design at all.

You are supposed to remove the back cover were the battery is first, then open the side for the SD card ... its mentioned in the manual. Once the back cover is removed its easy to get an micro SD card in/out of there without having to resort to sharp objects.

Yeah, I think I saw in a couple reviews they took the back cover off first and then opened the side cover to insert the sd card. Probably pretty hard to open it without the back cover off first. Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow.

My phone was miss-provisioned in the store. All I got was 1x, till I got to 2nd level support reprogrammed the thing. I should have known when the Sprint Rep said “I ever done this on one of these PDA thingies” But she was cute and I was happy I had the Touch so it passed right over me. Funny how a flicker of the eyes and beautiful smile will make everything alright.
