Process of elimination is in your future I can tell you that none of the following apps have caused me any issues:
1. Palm threaded SMS - threads your text messages.
2. Agile Messenger - like Trillian for the PPC. It costs $, but I like it better than the built in app.
3. SOTI Pocket Controller - emulate your phones display on your PC screen, while connected via USB or bluetooth. Allows you to take full control over the PC.
4. MSDict - Dictionary
5. Ewallet - manage passwords, credit card numbers, etc.
6. Opera Mini, using Esmertec midlet manager (search the Mogul forums for more info) - similar functionality to that of the iPhone web browser.
7. Live Search - awesome app for directions, traffic, gas prices, etc.
8. PocketXpdf - better than the Adobe reader
9. Resco Explorer with Registry & FTP add ins - best fire explorer out there, which also includes a registry editor and an FTP client
10. SafeMode - works like windows safe mode on a PC
11. SKtools - 100's of tweaks and utilities. also includes a backup utility.
13. TCPMP - better than built in WM player
14. HiCalc - advanced calculator
I have to say that the contents of this thread are pretty darn mundane...which is a good thing Sigh...still trying to decide if I want to (a) fight for a Mogul/Touch swap and (b)give up the Mogul keyboard. I have devoted myself to using my Mogul in "Touch" mode using the Touch keyboard and keypad to see how it goes. Still working on a verdict.

I'm still having a tough time with the keyboard part, but I love everything else to much to go back.
Ok the two problems I am continuing to have on my touches -
1) keyboard - will not maintain the desired keyboard, when I go to change keyboards I have to hold the up arrow next to the keyboard for 4-5 secs for it to pop up to select a new keyboard.
2) Memory card issue - somehow the files turn into squares with gibberish next to them. Once the files all got corrupted. Recently problem can be fixed with a soft reset
3) comm manager - on occasion the text turns to gibberish.
Hi there, I got the touch the day it came out through Telus Canada and, as seems usual with HTC products, it's full of bugs.
Worst part is that the screen is starting to display dark spots, it's getting worse and worse. Secondly, the window that pops up when there's an incomeing call blanks out the actual number... so much for call display.
Lastly, the phone just gets stuck sometime... it's a great phone but please, get the bugs out.
You know I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of activity in this thread!! J/k
Hey Robsanten - sounds like the store must of dropped yours a few dozen times or you are really an iPhone lover who doesn't own a touch and looking to knock it. (you asked for that for your "as seems usual with HTC products, it's full of bugs" statement, a statement which could apply to every PDA phone out there to some degree)

Volume in Sprint TV is controlled by normal volume control (slider) and d-pad both. Push the d-pad right. It's plenty loud on most channels, but levels vary a lot by channel.
Todd/Indy
question.....what is a "d-pad"..??? where is it found??

NON recognition of installed programs AND on my card
Had my TOUCH for about 3 weeks now. Just last Friday, certain programs I had installed on my card wouldn't operate (programs OR shortcuts). I figured I'd just do a reset - NOTHING. Then, i figured I'd just reinstall them again from my card...NOT! EVERYTHING ON IT WAS GONE! File Explorer recognized my card BUT, with NOTHING on it. I was so ticked off about that crap - I didn't use it the whole weekend! Finally, Monday morning, I picked it up (after I recovered) to decide what I was going to reinstall (again) first and S.O.B, my card had everything BACK!
This isn't the first time my TOUCH didn't recognize things in File Explorer. I'm not sure if this is a sign of future problems or not. But, my intention is to take it back to Sprint ASAP!
Poltergeist? - I think not! Santageist - maybe
Hooyah
Just got it replaced yesterday. Get rid of it? No, I'm still happy with my TOUCH AND its size. I'm pretty confident this problem won't return. I'm surely NOT going to break out the old brick again!
if they release a update to fix all these bugs, and i mean all. than i would get it again and be happy. otherwise i cant live with a phone with so many issues.
maybe the touch dual will be better. if sprint gets it.
get rid of it. the people who are stuck with theirs or keeping theirs dont know much about phones. this was released to soon. too many bugs
I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder, because from my perspective this is the most bug free phone I've ever had; a big improvement over its predecessors. I'm keeping mine thank you very much and I think I know a little about phones.
Truthfully, I feel that all Windows Mobile phones are buggy and that's simply the price of convergence and power. I hated my 6700 for the first few days that I had it. Eventually with a little patience, it became one of the most productive pieces of tech I've ever owned. The Touch is shaping up to be a close 2nd (still miss my hardware keyboard).

Had Touch for 5 weeks. Screen needs alignment as much as 3 times a day. Prob # 1. After waking up in the morning and trying to uncheck the alarm box, cant press the inside of the box.
Prob # 2. The Large or small keyboard is off 1 letter on the left or right or both sides. Problem comes and goes and is fixed by doing a screen alignment, but its too much of a pain. Never been dropped and I never seen that prob with the 6700 even with a cracked screen.
the people who are stuck with theirs or keeping theirs dont know much about phones.
I hate to flame, but it sounds like YOU are the one that does not know jack sh*t about phones. (sorry, kinda got sick of reading this thread with the negativity expressed by MR29ROSE. This thread is supposed to be helpful to forum viewers, not a bash thread).
I started with the ppc-6700, then switched to the Treo 700Wx, then QUICKLY switched back to the ppc-6700. Now that I am on the Touch, I couldnt even think about switching back, keyboard or not.
As for bugs, it has been a charm so far although I have had it lock up on me 2 or 3 times, but I have been going back and fourth through programs so its expected. Once I feel I have the Touch perfect to my liking, I will hard reset the phone and only install the apps I will use.
well figured I would update now having the phone since it's release. Besides the one issue with the storage card I had twice and the delay keyboard I haven't had any other problems. This is very surprising one of the least buggy wm phones I've ever had.
Sorry MR29ROSE looks like you just got a bad unit.
I have had the phone for 4 days and since I have had to do a Hard Reset, and 5 soft resets. For three nights now here is what I have done.
-clock on visiting time zone and 2 alarms selected for the morning
-phone on and bluetooth on
-all email accounts are at manual check
-plugged into a wall
every morning now (3 days) the phone is locked and requires soft reset to come alive, no alarms, no calls(and yes i have missed them and text msgs), no text messages....nada--until after a reset. Tried one hard reset after first 2 times and still doing it. Prior to hard reset did have 1 thrid party app-resco explorer/reg editor. Now its not on the phone and still need soft reset. Today I had to reset in morning...made 2 calls, laid it down and came back 4 hours later and it was a locked up brick again!....Any help????????? Or is it possibly a crap phone and need a new one from sprint store (where we got it luckily!)

I have noticed that on some HTC home screens that the user favourites is not visible. I found that when I deleted the key QuickDial under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD, the tab is now visible. I have 6 tabs visible using HHC program. Even before I had customized the today screen, the favourite tab was not visible.
I can add people to the list, but the list is lost when I do a soft reset or if I turn the phone off then on again. Any suggestions as to how I might be able to solve this?
