Won't Boot up

My Touch suddenly stopped working. I was using the phone and the "talk" and "end" button's stopped working so I soft reset it. It did not boot up after that. It will show the HTC version screen, then the Sprint logo and a black lit screen. I thought it was stuck so I left it for a while, at least an hour. Then I thought it might have been the replacement battery, so I put my OEM battery in and it changed nothing. It is just a lit up black screen.

Any ideas, besides upgrading to the Touch Pro? I love my touch and want it to work. I haven't loaded any new apps or software on it for some time. It also wasn't syncing with my laptop either, but I'm pretty sure that was a laptop issue.

UPDATE:

I tried a hard reset and got the WM 6.1 back up. I noticed my hard keys were still not working so I soft reset and it's back to square one. Blank black, lit screen.

Ideas?

FURTHER UPDATE:

I can do a hard reset and most of the time get WM 6.1 running again, however the "send" and "end" keys are not or rarely working and the system will freeze up from time to time and I have to hard reset again because the soft reset just leaves me back at square one.

The directional and enter buttons are working... weird. It has to be a software issue with the other keys, because I have no problem doing a hard reset.

Ideas?

FINAL UPDATE:

I took it into the Sprint Repair shop and they said it had a little rust inside. a.k.a. water damage. Not sure how, but whatever. So I have a mostly working phone that will not boot up after a soft reset. Pain in the ars.

I guess I'll start saving for an upgrade to the Pro
