So who how many are dumping the Touch for a Touch Pro

I finally got the NFSFAN Rom on my touch. I love it, I have almost all features of the Diamond plus some and its working very well. However the TP is really pulling and my brain, I have always wanted the keyboard, but I hated the look and feel of the Mogul.
So am bummed and can’t decide which way to go….

Anyone else out there in the same position?

I loved -- absolutely loved -- my Touch. But there was no hesitation in giving it to my wife and getting the Touch Pro.

Well I missed my window cause I couldn't find or get to a store which had the TP available. Oh well my touch still works and since I don't have the 2yr discount+20% the phone is not such a great deal after all.
But I will be waiting in line for the Touch HD Pro!

Not me. I am perfectly fine with typing on the onscreen keyboard. I have much better battery life with my touch than the touch pro could offer me because of the 2000 mha battery I have in mine. I have the Manila 2d interface which looks pretty close to the Manila 3d, I mean, Touch 3d that the Pro has. So what's left, WiFi? Never needed it. I have a 8 gig card in my touch, so that wouldn't change going to the Pro. The nicer screen and the accelerometer are the only big things that my Touch can't offer. Many apps don't work so well on a VGA screen yet...but yeah...it would be nice to have one. The accelerometer is really just superior in games, like Teeter or whatever it's called that comes with the Pro.... I can live without that for now. I mapped the long hold camera button to the Landscape/Portrait switcheroo.... so that doesn't take long.

I'd be spending all that money on something that's not significantly better in my opinion. You still have Windows Mobile 6.1. I'd rather wait for the next wave of phones to come through which offer more significant improvements than what the Pro has to offer over the Touch.

the main reason i won't get the pro is the lack of some sort of card slot. i just purchased ocn 8 for my touch and in has to be run from the micro sd card it came on. i do like the idea of more built in memory though.

Pro has micro sd slot. Diamond has built in memory.

For me it comes down to price. If I can keep my SERO plan which I have had for 2 plus years, AND get a fair discount on the phone then I will pull the trigger on the PRO.

I'm with you manuTouch I have the Manilla 2d installed. I went to the sprint store and TO ME there is very little speed or feature loss between the two.

I highly recommend loading Manilla and saving the $$$ till the next release. We ain't missing that muchq
