Battery Life

I have two batteries acting pretty much the same.

In standby only. No calls and not using the phone for anything, the battery has gone from 100% to 30% in under 23 hours. Normal?

How long are batteries lasting in standby?

How long before a battery loses its ability to hold a charge?

If they're both the OEM batteries, then they are acting as they should. Those are garbage so don't expect too much out of them. I'm actually surprised you're getting that long out of them.

Funny.... Charged the Touch yesterday and removed it from the charger and noted the time/date: 6:00pm 10/10/08.

Light use and the battery is at 70% at 10:17 10/11/08. That's 28 hours and the battery is still at 70%.

I wonder what the conditions were that drained the battery during that time of 10/7/08 but the battery was much better prior to and after that time?

If I have very light use I usually get a few days before the battery goes below 50% which is why I created this thread.

I think it boils down to how active your radio is. If you put your phone into airplane mode, it will take several days for your battery to die. If you take it out of airplane mode, don't use your phone at all, and have 0 data activity, I would expect your results to be similar to post #3. With moderate network and voice activity you will need to recharge midway through your day. Turn on bluetooth and/or WiFi then you've turned your device into the Hummer of PDA phones.
