Why are there "Phone" applications piling up in my task manager?

I'm wondering if this is why my phone is bogging down. I looked while it was in "bog down mode" and there were 3 random Phone applications in the Task manager. And I couldn't close them. They were stuck there. And CProg or whatever wouldn't close them. Any ideas?

I've never seen the phone app show up in the stock task manager. Are you using a 3rd party task manager? I've seen issues in the past with 3rd party task managers seeing the phone dialer as an "application" and problems occurring if you use the task manager to close it. Most 3rd party task managers have an exclusion list. You want to exclude the phone app from this to prevent it from ever trying to close it.

But I'm wondering if this is causing issues. I rarely his the X to close the phone dial pad. I usually just keep hitting END until I'm back to Today. Doesn't that keep numerous phone apps open in the background?

The short answer is yes. Close them down regularly using the X or Task Manager application. Or a lot of people press the soft reset button at least once every day.

I use the end button to close the phone app, and I have yet to see the app show up in the task manager, or the X button drop down. In fact, I just checked the task manager with the phone app open, and it still didn't show up.

My experience has been that I don't need to soft reset this phone nearly as often as I did by Samsung i730, or my Mogul. I usually go a week or so between soft resets.

I have the same problem. I use SKTools for my app manager. It seems to happen more frequently when I am in an area where the signal is weak or nonexistent. Only way to resolve the issue for me is a soft-reset. Have you learned anything else since you posted this?
