Using a bluetooth headset makes the phone go into silent mode
After using a bluetooth headset, my phone switches to "Silent" from where it was before (for example "Vibrate" or "Normal"). The result is that I miss all my calls because it is now on "Silent" when I am done using the bluetooth headset.
I have had other Windows Mobile devices and this has never happened. It only started happening recently as I am now using two new bluetooth headsets (one of which is a bluetooth stereo headset).
Does anyone have any suggestions? I couldn't find anything about this in the forums but that seems strange as it seems like something that could have happened to others.

Sorry I don't have a solution, but I can confirm that on some phones it is an ongoing nightmare. Maybe guys live with their earpiece permanently in their ear if they have a bluetooth headset, but women tend to toss it in their purse. I have women friends who are apoplectic that their phone will not ring when the bluetooth is turned on, and they have to literally answer the phone manually, then switch to bluetooth, then turn it off. For example, the Samsung 500's WILL ring even if your bluetooth is on; one friends newer M520 will not, and I am the one who continually hears the litany of complaints because I recommended she buy the phone.
Why on EARTH this is not an option on the phone, and settable separately, is just beyond me! If my Touch would not ring even if the bluetooth was on, I would have had to return it in the first week. I once encountered a thread about Samsung M510 folks freaking out over this, and they were told by Samsung that it was a 'feature'.
Maybe this is just a Samsung illness? Any insight would be appreciated, friend is threatening to dump phone over it.

Have you found an answer yet? I started having the same problem after a year of using the same phone/headset combo. I think it was the upgrade to WM6.1 that did it to me.

Unfortunately no. It still happens a lot. For what it's worth, I have the Verizon XV6900 running WM 6.0. It primarily seems to happen when I use a headset that has "Wireless Stereo".
Please let me know if you figure it out.

Just curious if any of you are using Microsoft Voice Command who are having the problem of the phone not ringing. I had that problem repeatedly on my Sprint Touch when trying to use bluetooth stereo A2DP headsets (Best Buy Insignias and Jabra BT8010's) once installing and tweaking MSVC. Even version 1.6 of MSVC is literally ancient, coming out in January of 2007, and has lots of bluetooth issues.
I am now running the official Sprint 6.1 ROM, using the built-in voice command, Jabra BT8010 headset is behaving great, music mode button helps me switch from voice to music mode for times it is not psychic and doesn't know I want to switch, AND THE PHONE RINGS RELIABLY. If I am in public and don't want it to ring, I just turn down the phone volume. I have dumped MSVC, I must have music and a phone that rings! I will have to suffer a little with the Cyberon Voice Commander that you have to record commands with.

Uh, I don't think MS Voice Command is included in WM6.1. I still have the stupid voice command where you have to program in every name. Is this the one you're thinking of?

I am glad you reposted. I am using a Celio Redfly with my Touch and sometimes when I use it via BT my 6900 goes to Silent Mode, BUT the Volume Menu still shows that the volume is all the way up. Perhaps the problem lies with the BT stack. A soft reset solves it but only after I have missed a few calls
