I know this is double posted, but noone ever checks the HTC Diamond Touch fourm, so here it is:

Help, I have two HTC Diamond Touch phones, both will not sync with active sync, or are able to use as a flash drive, tried multiple PCs and all are on XP Pro. They did work, now they dont, they will charge, and from the PC it shows charge on the HTC, but nothing more!

I have hard reset, no luck, any other ideas, even bootloader will not make

both phones behave the same way?

can you use bluetooth to connect?

out of a hard reset, BOTH phones, when in a factory fresh state, will not connect thru USB?

but you are able to charge them from the PC?

same behaviour on multiple pc's?

did you uninstall Async and reinstall?

what happened just prior to you having this issue?

Factory Fresh No Connect!
Bluetooth I can connect, and I am not sure how long this has been going on due to using exchange, but I want the new ROM so I have to connect.
Tried 4 PCs now, all the same exact, and ASync was reinstalled on one and new installs on the other three.

Dont know I loaded mp3s via cable about 3 months ago. Never use active sync, ever. I used File transfer, now nothing.

if you have done a hard reset and they are still having issues then its a hardware thing. insurance time... all you can do is a hard reset... that it.. perhaps one of your pins is broken in the phones usb port that control syncing. maybe wiggle the usb cable while its plugged into the device slowly to see if you can see it trying to connect.. not much else you can do other than insurance exchange...

and ooh are these refurbs or are you the original owner? if refurbs then its more than likely a hardware issue...

I have both new, I have used terminal cleaner on the terminals, playyed with the angle and hold of it. Its just weird that it happened to both, wonder what made it happen, charger?? I guess Im going to junk all the chargers and start clean.

As for the new warranty what should I do, I have seen that they are charging 100$ for that phone's deductable and that's too much for a refurb, I can buy one new on ebay for less than that.
Correct me if im wrong.

do you have the 7 dollar TEP plan? if so, should not cost you anything. take it into a store, have them verify they dont work, they will issue replacements. i had 5 nextel BB curves replaced (dont ask!) under the TEP and didn't pay one penny. i had two PROs replaced and 2 BBTours replaced all with zero cost to me. i even did some of them online thru my sign in page and didnt even have to go in at all...

I have had super bad luck with the plan every time I take them to the store they have told me to call the Replacement and they charge a 50$ (now its 100$) copay thru assurion.

Well ill be, the last time they were totally A$$es and didn't do anything but tell me to call Assurion and pay 50$ deductible, this time they took one look at the phone and said sure, must be a common problem??
