Unable to connect WI-FI

Anyone know why I can not get my Touch Pro to connect to my router? Here are the details: Using a Linksys 2.4g router with WPA-PSK enabled. My laptops connect fine. I just configured my IPOD and it connected, no problem. When I try with my phone, it will not connect. I have recreated the profile several times to be sure I didn't type in the key wrong. The "Configure Wireless Settings" screen shows available. When I click on the entry and then connect, it says, "connecting" then switches back to available. Rom: 1.03.651.4 Radio: 1.03.15F

i dont think the PRO will connect to that type of security.

the easiest way to test is to disable security and see if the PRO will lock to the router. if it will then you know its not the phone but more than likely the encryption used...

My Fuze connects using WPA2-PSK no problem.

Have you played with the type of encryption WPA is using? You can select either TKIP or AES in the wireless configuration on the TP, so you might manually configure the network and play with that setting. If they don't match, you won't connect (I believe Linksys defaults to TKIP and the TP to AES).

Well, I double checked my settings, using WPA-PSK on both router and TP. Using TKIP on both. Reentered password more times then I can count. My IPOD and numerous laptops work great. TP just says connecting and then after a while, switches to Available.

While you're at it, you might get off of WPA with TKIP and go to WPA2 with AES if it's available. WPA/TKIP recently got hacked (and there's some suspicion that WPA2/TKIP will turn out to be similarly vulnerable).

Not the biggest of deals for home access points, but never hurts to use the best if it's available to you.
