Cant select mulitple emails to delete

in the past i had been able to highlight several emails by tapping and dragging and highlighting several and then tapping the delete and they all are removed.

for some reason that does not work now

any ideas on how to get it back ??

This is one of my pet peeves with this phone. I would like a solution also.

im able to do it with no issues. did you soft reset? also pull the battery out for a minute then reinsert and see if that helps. i have never lost that ability to highlight. i can do the same thing in text. just highlight some text and cut or paste..no issues.

I even tried some of the custom ROMS and did not have the ability to highlight more that one email or SMS at a time.

I had a XV6800 on Verizon and could highlight as many as I wanted and delete them. I cannot do this on my XV6850 on Verizon. It's a pain. Don't know why this would be different on the 6850.

You sure you're not using a Palm pre? The only issues I had with the Touch Pro was the screen sensitivity would sometimes interpret my gesture as a flick instead of a press and drag for highlighting. It would sometimes take me 3-4 times to try to select multiple emails (and selecting 2 was the hardest) but it was certainly possible. I'd imagine this is core WM 6.1 functionality and wouldn't be subject to carrier modifications. Have you tried doing this with a stylus? Press down and firmly drag?

If you updated to the official ROM recently, that is your problem. I was also always able to drag to select multiple messages and then I updated my phone to the newest official ROM (Version 2.01.671.1) and i lost the ability. Now you have to go to Menu > Select Messages > Several to get more than one selected...

You may want to check this out. I put it on all WM phones and it works fine.

Cheers!!
