Need to rework Outlook 2007 to synch to Touch Pro

Well, I messed up and need help. I had been using 4smartphone to provide a hosted exchange server. I synchronize Outlook 2007 on my laptop to my Sprint Touch Pro (for email only, not appts, contacts, etc.). But, I also have a program that I use that essentially imports the emails from Outlook and stores the emails in that program, deleting them from Outlook. I was having some issues with how that program behaved with Outlook when Outlook was communicating with a hosted exchange server, so I tried to revert to just using Outlook to retrieve email from a POP3 server, and have my Touch Pro do the same. But now I can't get my laptop Outlook to sync with my handheld, because apparently my handheld Outlook needs a particular profile (the laptop profile that had the settings for the exchange server).

Is there a way to retrain my Touch Pro to synchronize with the new profile I created that uses the POP3 server? For example, do i just DELETE the current "Outlook" email account and it regenerates a new one? Or do I change a setting on the Touch Pro? Or do I change a setting in ActiveSync?

Delete the partnership that you've created in AS on the phone. Then open up Outlook on your PC before you connect the phone, so that the right profile is loaded when you make that first connection. Hook up the phone via USB and create a new partnership and you should be good to go.

But it's the partnership that dictates the Outlook profile that's used.

Thanks. After posting, I rediscovered the reason I'd gone to a true "push" service--Only one of the Outlook accts on the pda will sync to the computer; but that acct ONLY syncs to the computer, and doesn't send/receive independently unless it is an Exchange Server acct. So, I ended up having to revert.
