I agree - I never had the 6700, but I had the i730 and I still believe that the external antenna makes a difference. But after swithcing to internal only antennae 2 phones ago, I will also say that there doesnt seem to be anywhere in my area where I used to have signal that I now have none. It seems to be more of a number of bars type of thing, a matter of degree.
I do think that revA makes a noticeable speed difference that I can see. The question is am I just perceiving a speed difference because my revA device has a faster Processor and more ram?
For the functions you mention above, seemingly mostly media-based, I would say the most compelling reason to change would be the better screen and vga resolution - this is a HUGE step from qvga as far as I am concerned. When I owned a 730 and even a Mogul, I always thought qvga was enough, but now having used VGA I would never want to go back to that pixelated view of my mobile world.
I would look at the 6700 forums on here ( as I am sure you have) and you will see that there is a HUGE list of reasons to upgrade, but signal strength would not be one of them, RevA definitely is.
