I'm using the 2000ma Innocase extended battery and still can't use the phone for a full day without recharging. Are there any strategies for extending battery life?
#1 suggestion - change how frequently you're pulling down mail from your servers. Particularly if you're using Exchange and have it set for "as mail arrives."
#2 suggestion - grab one of the apps that lets you turn 3G on and off. The 3G data connection burns more battery.
Install a task manager program like Magic Button (it's free) and you will find almost doube the battery life. I actually turned Magic Button off and it still gives me the extra battery life. Try it...

There are few drain sources: apps especially some key lock ones, S2U2 is a good one; Wi-Fi should be disabled 99% of the time; poor signal, ActiveSync needs to be configured on "manually", and you may need to turn phone off too if it's really bad; blue tooth; screen and power settings; bad karma, there is nothing one can do about that, for everything else there is TaskManager to check CPU utilization and abcPowerMeter to check mAh.
Bluetooth on or off really depends on how your using it. I only shut BT off when I'm on a plane and it doesn't have a significant impact on my battery life. However, I'm only using it for a headset, not listening to music or lots of Internet sharing/syncing. The combination of the headset you have and how you're using it will definitely have an impact, but the drain can be manageable (I use a Plantronics Discovery 655).
I also think manual syncing would be for those that really want maximum battery life and don't mind having to force a check for e-mail. I've got mine set at 15 minutes and I can go at least one day without a charge (depending on calls).
For me, the killer is when I'm using the GPS. That usually means the screen is forced on and that really kills battery life. If you've got anything that's forcing the screen on (keep the phone where you can see it to determine if that's happening), that can really cut into battery life quickly.
I use a BT headset most of the day. I don't listen to music or watch videos. Most days I do not use the camera. I rarely use the GPS. I never use the WLAN. I'd guess that I make and receive about 12 phone calls a day. I use PhoneAlarm for phone profiles and alerts. I do use the PhoneAlarm screen lock. I have my email setup to collect mail every hour on two accounts.
I only sync with my laptop but ActiveSync seems to restart itself all the time and I don't know how to stop it from doing that!
I have the WM6.1 Task Manager to actually close programs when I tap "X".
(Wouldn't Button Magic be redundant?)
Yesterday I let the battery run down to nothing, powered down the phone, removed the battery, reinstalld the battery and charged for 10 hours.
I powered up at about 6:16am. Turned on the BT at 9:30. I haven't accessed the internet with the browser. I had a phone call that lasted an hour and I plugged in the phone to charge for perhaps 20 minutes during that call. The battery level as of 3:35pm is 40%.
I have the Sedio 2000ma battery. Should I quit complaining?
It's BT. I don't think there is huge difference whether you talk or it is just on, but I did not check. I did check between BT on and BT off in idle and that made big difference. I have 3200 mAh on old 6700 this thing can last forever. With mere 1500-2000 it's rough, BT is a luxury. Another offender is reception. If battery has been in use for few months capacity drops quite a bit.
