I have this rather weird and frustrating problem with gmail imap access.

I have my regular work email working through pop3 and live.com email working through imap (html) with no problems. However, Gmail Imap seems to have issues.

Whenver I check email through gmail, it seems to login fine, message at the bottom changes to receiving folders, soon enough to receiving headers. And that is where it sits for about 10 seconds and then just skips out to the Home Screen. Almost like a crash. If I go back to it, the internet access (Sprint access) is now off, and the message on Gmail still shows Receiving Headers.

Now, sometimes it gets lucky and gets the mail, sometimes nothing. I have press Send Receive several times to get my gmail here.

Anyone facing similar issues have a workaround?

Apparently not. How much mail are you trying to grab through GMail? A few days? All of it from your inbox? It may just be trying to pull down too much raw data and crashing. Can you share more on the settings you're using, 'cuz IMAP's working like a champ for my GMail account.
