Worst luck ever?
A little over a month ago I switched over to Verizon and purchased the XV6800....About a week later I decided to upgrade it to the Touch Pro. I'm not sure if I'm just cursed or what but I have had horrible luck ever since that day.
I had my phone for a total of 2 days before my dog got it and tore it up pretty good. I paid the fee to get it replaced by the insurance and got my replacement the next day. I made sure to take extra care of my phone, never dropped it and definitely didn't let my dog anywhere near it lol. About 2wks of having that one, one day my screen wouldn't turn on at all.....I called the insurance and since it was still under warranty they sent me out a new one for free. It's been about 2wks of having the replacement and today I noticed a small black spot in the middle of the screen while the phone was in standby mode. When I turn the screen on it looks like a rainbow of sorts... The touchscreen doesn't work too well anywhere near this part of the screen but other than that the phone is fully functional.
Just got off with the insurance and they said it was caused by pressure damage which voids the warranty and I would have to pay another $50 to get it replaced....On top of that after this replacement I wouldn't be eligible to file another claim for 11 more months. What's strange is how pressure damage wasn't even possible until it takes awhile for it to show up. I was using my phone while stopping at a gas station, it had no damage at all. I put the phone in the holster and even left it in my truck for the 10min it took to get gas and go inside. When I went back out I noticed the damage appear out of nowhere.
I really don't know what to do, I guess I don't a choice..... I already spent a ton of money on this phone and now I guess I have to spend even more. I have a feeling I'm going to get burnt pretty bad in this deal. Let's say I get my replacement and that decides to break on me..... I'll still have a good 22 months or so left on my contract with Verizon. I'm definitely not going to buy another phone at full price with them... Would they let me out of my contract if I didn't have a working phone with them anymore?
