He means SSK 2.0 has been released. That is Scott's kitchen which you can download and cook your own ROMS. You can also download a precooked rom, and flash it on your phone. Depending on what you are actually seeing, I think you'll be able to work out your issues with the newest ROM. There was a "remove programs" issue in previous releases and previous builds.
Version 2.0 is a significant improvement over any Kitchen that Scott has released yet, its ROCK SOLID.
You know what is more surprising is how many websites come up in a google search for Scott's kitchen. Scott and I were on IM one day, and started checking out different sites that either reviewed his product, or had forum threads regarding his stuff.
Ultimately we'd like to support SSK in one forum, but we are branching out a little to help people everywhere.
Although I search there for solutions quite often - I find that I cannot really follow the forums for ssk alot as they end up being a lot of very choppy conversations between scott and his pals. This is in no way a complaint as I love his roms and am very thankful. It just changes the way I use his forum a little. This is slightly less the case now, but the PPCgeeks pages were posted on about every 2 minutes - this makes them impossible to keep up with.
I guess the point of this ramble is - search - don't peruse - lol
As pointed out, this a great ROM. I have used it for over a week and have not found any issues. VZ Navigator works great (a problem for earlier versions). It has given me around 20 megs of extra RAM as well.
I recommend this for anyone using a VZW TP.

I completely feel you there. On ppcgeeks, if you didn't read the thread every day, you'd wind up so far behind that it was impossible to catch back up. Mix that in with the general conversations.... it was aweful to keep up on. That's why he setup a dedicated forum for support. An added bonus is his list of beta testers.(I convinced him to setup a few beta testers before he released to the public) While Scott does all the development, there are a group of us who have been testing the kitchens/ pre-cooked roms before he goes public. This kills so much confusion.
P.S. MobileRob did some beta testing, for Scott. Speaking of which... Rob, did you download the new kitchen yet? I'm interested on how well VZNav works.

No I haven't used the kitchen yet. But the ROM is fantastic.
I also recommend the WinMo dialer that Scott supplies with the ROM. It frees up 10 megs of RAM, let's the phone ring sooner when a call happens, and for me, allows me to answer calls by flipping open my bluetooth headset (would have to be connected prior to a call with the standard ROM and HTC dialer).

I just switched to the touch pro from the samsung i760 today and found Scott's rom to be great...huge improvement over the slow stock rom. However, I thought this phone was supposed to change orientations if you turn it, for example from landscape to profile....isn't that the purpose of the "g sensor"?

For some reason by default the G-Sensor only changes the orientation in certain applications. A couple that I know it works in are Opera and the Picture viewer. I am sure there are others, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.
However if you pull out the keyboard, all applications will switch to landscape.

Thanks for the quick response...but since it was so fast I'm going to sneak in a couple more questions. Do you know how to make T9 the default so when I type suggested words appear without me having to click the on screen keyboard and switching it from ABC to T9. And how can I make incoming messages appear on the screen without having to select them from the top toolbar or from the message tab on touchflo? Thanks again.

Interestingly, I also would like to be able to default to T9, since I like the word suggestion and auto-correction, and these only work when T9 is turned on. I suspect there is a registry setting for the abc-T9 default, but I have not seen anything on it. At least the T9 will stay until you soft-reset once you have toggled it. Hopefully someone else can respond if it is possible to set the T9 as the default. You might want to start a new thread on this one. Here is a thread that seemed to give some feedback: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/htc-t...ted-words.html
In regards to emails or texts appearing on the screen as a pop-up, that is not currently possible as far as I know.

My T9 actually resets to ABC every time I close out of the text message box. Under input settings I have full QWERTY and the option shows T9 yet it still goes back to ABC

Interesting ... it appears to be dependent on when you pull out the keyboard. Before or after you enter the message. I will need to play with this for awhile to determine what is going on.
Try going in to a message, set the keyboard to T9, leave the message and come back ... you will note it is still set to T9. However, if you pull out the keyboard before you go into the message it seems to be set to ABC.
