bad JPG compression in Photos and Videos

The photos I have added to my phone from my PC look bad in the Touch Flo application's Photos and Videos page. They have massive JPG compression artifacting. The photos that were in the phone, and any photos I have taken with the built in camera look great. When I click on the photos to look at them full screen, they all look great, but it's just in the screen where you can "flip" through the photos that they look bad. I moved a photo from the memory card to the phone to see if that was the issue, but it still looked bad.

It's probably not that big of a deal, as the more photos I get loaded to the phone, the less likely I am to even use this "flip" function, as it would take all day to flip through a hundred photos.

On another note, what photo apps do people like that lets you organize lots of photos well?

I used to use XnView Pocket

It's a great program if you have a large number of photos to go through and organize. I'd still use it, but I don't plan on storing a large amount of pictures on the phone and the included program with the gimmicky flip feature should be ok.

I like resco's photo viewer. I'm still running a fairly old version, but it is fast and everything looks good.

In general, I don't much care for touchflo 3d. I much rather use a much more powerful and customizable set of tools and Today screen plugins.

When you're looking at the images in the 3D environment, what kind of "bad" do you see?

image looks too bright and detail is lost in bright areas (wrong gamma)?
image looks too dark areas and these areas look really pixellated (wrong gamma)?
too blocky (could be from texture filtering)?

In any case, there isn't much you can do. JPEG's in OpenGL will always look crappy because the gamma between JPEGS and OpenGL are different.
