frustrations with Sprint Music app

I've indicated earlier I generally prefer Windows Media Player to the Sprint music player; but I keep trying to learn how to use the Sprint application.

I can't find any help screens on it. I have gotten totally frustrated, so I wanted to see if it's just me--the interface is, to me, very counter-intuitive; I can't seem to build playlists other than by naming a new one, editing it, then trying to add songs--which show up in a list of titles, but can't be sorted by artist, album, genre, or anything else.

Am I missing something? What is anyone else doing in this regard?

I hate it. I like the way it looks and I enjoy how it shows up on the TF screen but it's really unfriendly to the user. I was tapping the repeat/shuffle icons for a half hour before I realized I had to turn them on through the menu...wtf?

It's not us, its the app.

My self esteem is restored. I just put Windows Media Player on the grid of 9 programs on the Programs tab, and it's only one extra click away that way.

the winmo media player is still a hog after all these years... you can do better with GS player at the very least or step up to pocket player...

I'd be curious to learn more about those alternatives (GS player or pocket player).

Glad I could help you through that tough time. I wish it would allow playlist imports, so I can build one on my PC through WMP and just throw the playlist file and appropriate songs on my SD card, but I'm sure that's asking too much. Remember, the application is not concerned with playing the music you already have, but with purchasing more from the Sprint store.

Yeah, that is a shame/sham. I liked Pocket Player with my 6700, but haven't put it on my TP yet.

Before I give up on the Sprint app... I used WMP to load tunes onto my card. I was expecting the albums to show up on screen and flip like the samples did, but I have to hit "Library" to my music. Then when it's up on the main screen it doesn't even have the album art. I don't suppose there's any solution? The User Guide is no help either...

I have used Media Player to rip mp3s, and then moved them to the Touch Pro. In Sprint music app, I get the album art for the selected album, but don't get a flippable set of albums, either. So, what I end up doing is just going to the Album list and selecting the album off the list. This only gives one album at a time in the playlist. If we had a convenient way to add entire albums to the playlist, that would be helpful, but I sure haven't found it yet.

Oh yeah, one other reason not to give up on it yet is that my BT stereo phones can pull it up and start the music in the current playlist without having to touch the phone. Is there a setting to change the program associated with that function?

Did WMP display the album art? The album art can only be displayed if your song/album has the art file (a jpeg i think?) associated with it (actually - I don't know if it's embedded into the meta data or if it's just linked to, maybe someone else will know). I copied music over from my PC and half had it and half didn't, but it was the same way on my computer.
