Please post up the things you don't like about the TP

I'm thinking about buying this phone, but i'm very picky. I know all the cool stuff it does, so please only post up the stuff that bothers you or is buggy. I don't care how small an issue it may seem, just post it up.
Thanks!

I am starting to love the phone. There are some programs I would normally port over but it looks like I will not have a need for them. This phone is worth it. I did one soft reset because I could not turn off the phone. I will have to see if that develops into something big.

Some of the issues are with the software but Sprint probably had something to do with the mods except for my slingbox comment.

Opera - There does not appear to be a desktop mode. Even explicitly entering MSN.com it takes me to the mobile version. There probably is a registry fix for that one.

There is no phone lock. With the off button on the top it does not readily turn on but it has already happened to me a couple of times.

Once you set your program, people or weather list it does not appear one can easily change the order.

Slingbox - The display does not take up the whole screen. I bet a lot of people are going to squawk about this one.

Youtube - Good news, you can open a link to a youtube video from an email. It opens up the streaming program instead of the Youtub app. The bad news, it is a small picture. Didn't test enough to know whether it happened only with the one I tested.

I wish the keyboard allowed a lighter touch.

The good news - I don't think any other phone can beat the screen image. It is stunning.

Don't have Bestbuy port your contacts. You can sync them on your own. I reluctantly agreed. I ended up with dups for almost all of my contacts after I did a sync.

jgorm, I know you want to know the bad stuff. I am coming to the conclusion the phone is well worth the price and upgrade even if there are some things that may annoy you. What type of issue will stop you from buying the phone? This isn't bleeding edge like the 6700. You really had to bite your lip to stay with the 6700. The Mogul was the beginning of the great PocketPC phones and this one continues the tradition. I won't give the iPhone an inch but I think I'd rather have the pinch screen feature rather than the accelerometer if I had to choose.

That is total BS. A phone lock is required to prevent pocket dialing and battery wasting.

thanks, but that does not matter much to me.

at least it has youtube. I love youtube. Some guy said you can't wheelie a harley, but a quick search for harley wheelie on youtube proved him wrong. hopefully they will have a firmware update to send youtube links to the youtube player (or just have a full screen streaming option)

Yeah i stuck with the 6700 because the newer phones had similar hardware specs and it didn't seem worth the upgrade when it was still working fine for me. I think the multitouch stuff is licensed by apple and thats why nobody else has it.

For me the things that are important are:
speed (program and webpage loading)
tethering (with usb looks like it works and is free from what i read.)
gps turn by turn navigation. (haven't heard much or anything on this yet)
no buggy crap. Buggy stuff drives me nuts. If i have to soft reset every day i'll be pissed for sure!

oh yeah, being able to open multiple web pages would be a huge plus. this one page at a time BS drives me nuts too.

Sprint gave us access to the GPS antenna around the half life of the 6800. I used GPS on the 6700 and up by using my own external camera until Sprint gave us the fix. It worked great on the 6800. I haven't tried it yet on the Pro. Some people have said it lags but not sure of whether that is an issue. If it is I can go back to my own antenna. I can tell you this much. On cloudy days it often took a long time for my antenna to sync with the satellites. With Sprint it syncs up right away. I believe that is because it uses the towers. No difference in accuracy. I use Copilot for the software.

Take the lock feature off the negative list. PowerConvoy provided the solution. I tried it and it works.

Earpiece Volume!!!!, oh we need a fix for this sooo bad.
Also, for the guy talking about opera. A lot of those sites that load mobile version. Scroll to the bottom of them and there is usually a link to load up the non mobile version.

So far I hate all the fingerprints on the screen (I'm OCD with crap like that and wipe my phone down with alcohol wipes multiple times a day) and the holster. I hate Velcro. I could use the 6800 holster, but it doesn't fit it completely and shakes around a bit.

I am the same way. On my last 3 devices, I have ordered Boxwave's anti-glare screen protector. I did the same for the TP and it should arrive today or tomorrow. It's a solid product. This will prevent most of the fingerprints in addition to preventing glare and protecting the screen. It appears the protector for the pro is in two pieces and also covers the bottom third around the d-pad.

Here is the link:
