I can not figure out how to get this keyboard back and I can't seem to get used to the new one. Any advise would be great! TIA.

Did you install the new 6.5 rom? Sadly, it is not in the new rom.

Don Mason

Wayne Orwig

Yep - they axed that one with 6.5 - and I think the reason that you do not see a cab for it is that most people think it sucked, but if you are used to it I could see how you would want it.

There are A LOT of keyboards and other input styles out there in cab form - I personally have switched to Swype and I love it. The only thingi si it is missing arrow keys - which I miss.

I stumbled upon a sort-of fix. If you install PhoneAlarm, there's an option in there for which keyboard you want as the default. Each time you reboot the phone, it will set your current keyboard to that...brings back transcriber and the Microsoft keyboard as well. The only problem is that you still can't switch to anything other than the HTC keyboard without the reboot, so if you want to be able to toggle between the big button keyboard and having the ctrl and tab keys, you're still out of luck.

I talked to HTC about this today, hoping to get the same fix they released for the Diamond for the Touch Pro 2. I figured that since the ROM was linked to off Verizon's page now, they'd support it. But HTC says it's not a ROM they made, so they won't...until 6.5 is available off of HTC's website, we're on our own with any problems.

Still, it fixed my bluetooth and VPN problems, so I'll live with the limited keyboard...fair trade for now.

Silicon- are you running 6.5? I would love to have that keyboard back too. lost it with the 6.5 upgrade. But if what you're saying is true and you have 6.5 then it IS in the phone somehwere! perhaps a reg edit?? Or are you running a cooked ROM?
