I get html support for my email. I use windows live for my hotmail box, and as long as I ensure that the whole message has been DLed I get html with graphics and everything.
Well I use my phone for Exchange. The mail reader doesn't support HTML. Now if you use a browser for your email...uh yea...that will work. Try using the built-in mail client. Much faster than the browser but missing the html support.
AHA! I bet you are Exchange Active Syncing to Exchange 2003. You only get text emails that way. You can update your Exchange to 07, or you can setup Windows Mobile to IMAP your Exchange Server in addition to or in place of EAS, then you can get html!
correct. im using 2003 SP2 exchange thru the company i work for. yes that only does text mail. you didnt specify you were using exchange particularly. the htc mail client supports HTML out of the box. i have other non exchange accounts on there and html works fine.
Yes I use Exchange too, it is 03 SP2. Initially, I thought, this is going to be so great to get html instead of text email when I updated from my I730! After I got the TP2 I noticed hotmail had html, and kept noticing my Exchange email was still text. Tried searching for options on the phone to turn it on, no joy. Tried searching online and found that it is not supported because of MS, this really isn't a HTC issue.
Notice glaring absence of Xchange 2003 mobile html support here:
I see re-reading this it does also actually work if you cable up (or BT) and do a local Activesync instead of an Exchange Activesync. Who wants to do that? Old Activesync 3.x used to be able to sync up over the network, but it probably doesn't support newer devices.
Right now I just run the two configs in Mobile Outlook, I use the EAS one for normal work, and then when I decide I want to see an html email I have a different Mobile Outlook account that is IMAPed and I go there and manually Send/Receive to veiw the email in all its html glory. You may be able to use POP too but I hate POP.
