I have a US Verizon Touch Pro 2. Is it possible when the official 6.5 upgrade comes out to use a SPB Backup file from 6.1 to just restore on 6.5 and have everything work fine? Will it screw up 6.5 if all the registry entries etc are from 6.1?

i would advise against that.your contact info , contacts, calendar, to do items, those should restore fine. but i would manually reinstall programs. otherwise you are asking for problems...

I agree, it will not work across different roms - even of the same OS version. For a full SPB Backup to work it must be the identical rom that was not it before - stick with the PIM backup only - or use the Myphone beta and never lose your PIM data again.
